Since 1967, Gubi's core philosophy has been to create timeless designs, with aesthetics, innovation, functionality and quality as guiding principles. Currently Gubi is concentrating on building a collection of design icons from the 1930s to the present. Resurrecting some of the the very best designs from across Europe, Gubi has built a range of beautiful and beautifully made lights.
Recently released (or re-released) are two classic and award winning designs from the legendary Greta Grossman. First produced in 1947 the Grasshoppa floor light is elegantly simple and orignal period pieces fetch large sums at auction. In 1950, the Cobra lamp won the Good Design Award and was subsequently exhibited at the Good Design Show at the Museum of Modern Art.
From the 1950s, Gubi has re-released the Pedrera floor light and accompanying pendants and tanble lamps. Designed specifically for "La Pedrera' for Gaudi's iconic modernist projects in Barcelona and, like all good design, the lights look as fresh and modern today as when they were first shown in Spain.
